Employment Opportunities While Attending College.  The Student Career Experience Program, commonly referred to as Cooperative Education (COOP) Program, combines paid, study-related employment with periods of formal educational study.  Student trainee positions give college students the opportunity to apply their academic studies to their on-the-job experience and explore career options.

The student must work a minimum of 640 study-related work hours before completion of the education requirements necessary to obtain their bachelor's degree.  Students who have met qualification requirements through education and experience are eligible to convert non-competitively to a permanent position within the competitive service.
